OUR TESTIMONIAL
We are Don and Cathy Miller, and this is our story. We have long struggled to find a place of worship that believed in and taught from one Bible version. For us, this version has always been the Authorized King James Version of the Holy Bible (the accurate translation of Hebrew and Greek Texts).
Unfortunately, we couldn’t find any (outside the L.D.S. faith) teaching from just the KJV. These days so many churches are afraid to make an unwavering statement of faith in fear of not being politically correct or worse yet, scaring away perspective followers. We visited many, only to see children asking, “my bible says this, why does his say that?” or adults saying, “versions don’t matter as long as they teach the love of Jesus.” But, for us, it mattered. So many other versions teach partial scripture and even altered text. In some cases, you’ll find entire verses simply omitted from “their version” of God’s word? Why? Many attempt to justify why. But, I’m reminded of Deuteronomy 4:2, “Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.” Other times we hear, “It doesn’t matter how you worship God as long as you worship Him”. But, is it really Him we’re learning of and worshiping when the Bible version we study omits things about Him or changes His name…? During Jesus’s Sermon on the Mount he said, “Not every one that saith unto me, “Lord, Lord”, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, “Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?” And then will I profess unto them, “I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” (Matthew 7: 21-23) For many years, I worshiped something subtly different than the true God of Abraham and didn’t even realize it. I’ve learned to be careful of other Bible versions. Some have been changed so subtly, you don’t even realize the new wording actually changes the meaning.
I was so relieved when we finally stumbled across Grace Baptist Church in Orem. For us, it seems like the “best kept secret” in Utah County. It’s just a small little congregation; but they have more passion, hope, inspiration and love than many we’ve attended. We hope you will find the congregation to be the same welcoming and loving brothers and sisters in Christ as Don and I did and will decide to become a part of our church family. God Bless.

Laura Mercado
My Name is Laura and I want to begin by saying how my life was before I met the Lord.
My life was rich and full of comfort, therefore; I never realized I needed a savior. In my mind I was complete and had everything I needed. In 2004, my husband, my daughter and I moved to the United States of America, leaving behind, not only my comfortable life, but also my family, friends and everything that I thought was important in life.
After a few months of living in Lake Charles, LA, I began to feel an emptiness in my life. I did not know what it was. The Lord gave me new friends that took us to church; and even though I didn’t know English at that time, He made me realize that I was a sinner, that the emptiness I was feeling was because I needed a Savior. He talked to my heart with words of love and mercy. I have to say, I was terrified about the idea of asking the Lord to be my savior. I felt worthless of His forgiveness, because I had a big list of sins on my back. I was not sure, if after I gave my life o the Lord, I could change and be the good Christian that we’re taught we should be.
A month or two passed as I struggled along. Then one day, a lady (younger than me, who used to sit behind me during service) died. She had three small children, she was healthy and just went to take a nap and never wake up from it. That was, for me, the push I needed. I realized that I did not have the assurance that I would even live one more day. I did not want to die before I knew for sure where I was going to spend eternity. That day I gave my life to the Lord, I got baptized the same day and from that day on I no longer felt the emptiness in my life and heart that I had. Jesus gave me His joy instead! God showed me that I did not need to change to be saved, but; just needed to give my life to Him and in return; He would give me a NEW life.
Actually, He gave me everything NEW!!! My husband got saved too! Now we both belong to God and have safety and security in Christ as we raise our small family and seek His divine will. What a blessing for a parent too, as our dear daughter (Camila) got saved when she was 7 years old. We have so much to be grateful for.
Grace Baptist Church is the first church we attended when we moved to Utah. They had placed a track on our door, so we went to check it out, and found that we really liked the pastor and feel of the church. We stayed because we really liked the people, they feel like family to us. We have no family here in the states, and the good people of Grace have become our family. We invite you to come check it out too. I think you will feel at home here too.
Love in Christ,

OUR TESTIMONIAL
Daniel Long: I grew up in a home that taught the Holy Bible. I went to church every time the door were open. However, God made Himself real to me at the age of 5. I clearly remember being convicted about being a sinner, and knew God judges
sin.
After discussing this with my parents, they showed me from The Bible that Jesus was the answer to sin and judgment. At that time, sitting in our living room, I trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ to save me from my sin through His Gracious death, burial and resurrection for me. I prayed to Him and told Him that I now trusted in Him, I knew that Christ’s payment was and is sufficient for all my sin/sins.
Immediately following that decision, God gave me a burning love for all those who have not accepted Christ’s payment and shared His message of Grace to others, even strangers. Later, while going to Bible college, God gave me a true love for those living in Utah. I followed the Lord’s life long calling to serve Him in Utah and here I am today.
Aja Long: I was saved when I was 7 years old. My parents were saved as teenagers, but didn’t grow up in Christian homes and were left to themselves to understand Christianity. Living in Utah, they decided to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day saints/ believing it too was “Christian” and wanting to raise their 3 children in church.
After several years in the Mormon church, the Holy Spirit began working in their hearts. As a result, my parents no longer had any peace attending the Mormon church. It was then that they surrendered their life to the Lord, alone, and trusted in Him completely for their salvation. Right away I noticed a change in their lives! They began studying the Holy Bible, as they loved God and wanted to know and understand more about His divine word. Church
wasn’t a “have to” it was a “want to”.
I could see it wasn’t about religion anymore, it was a relationship they were actually having with God. It was, at that time, I knew my parents had something I didn’t have, and I wanted it! My dad sat me down and explained the beautiful Gospel to me (Grace by faith alone). The following Sunday I gave my life to Christ and trusted Him as my personal Savior.

We would highly recommend Grace Baptist Church to anyone looking for a friendly church that teaches from the word of God. We are a smaller church that feels more like family. We offer classes for all ages and have monthly fellowships for both the men and women.
I was saved at the young age of 5 at a vacation bible school at my uncle’s church. He was a pastor for 30 years there. I grew up in a Christian home and have had a solid relationship with God for 31 years now. God is good all the time. My husband did not grow up in a Christian home, however his parents allowed him to be picked up on a bus every week for Awana club at the local Community Christian church. He was saved as a child through the kindness of a local church that invested their time and loved on a “bus kid”. I’m so thankful for local Christian workers in churches. They do make a difference! We have both served alongside each other since 1999 when we got married. We currently are leading the teenagers at Grace Baptist Church. Come on out and visit us, I promise you will find a wonderful church full of God’s love.

Castaneda Family
We are the Castaneda Family and my name is Angelito. I got saved in 2001 when I was attending a Sunday school class in a Baptist Church in Manila, Philippines. That morning the word of God hit my heart so strongly, it convicted me that I was a sinner and I needed a Savior. That is when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, and by the grace of God, my family and I are all saved, and we’re still here and serving Him in every way we can.
My family and I have been attending Grace Baptist Church in Orem since 2009, with the exception of a small window of time when we had to return to the Philippines (between 2014-2016), we have been faithfully attending ever since. In 2011, we shared our story of personal salvation with the church body and officially became members and a part of the Grace Baptist Church Family. My family and I love this church because it is a church that preaches of Jesus Christ and believes that the Bible is the inerrant, infallible word of God, and is the sole Authority for faith and practice. We attend Grace Baptist regularly and enjoy serving God in any way we can. We hope you’ll come visit us and see first hand how wonderful life in Christ can be.
